One of my absolute dearest friends from college went and had herself a babe.  Sigh.  Such loveliness.  I was fortunate to be invited to be a part of her birth, and a more gorgeous mama I have not yet seen – and I believe all laboring women possess a glowing wonder that pushes them to near-goddess status.  But those pics are not really mine to share – but some of the pics I did at one month…well, here you be:

Oh – I am already so happy to know you little girl.  And isn’t that hair the best thing you’ve ever seen?

Wow, that’s alot of folk!

This was the largest family grouping I’ve done, and boy did I learn alot!  They were happy folk though, and that makes all the difference….

For the most part, I love color, but with so many different groupings of folks, I loved the way they came together with the black and whites.

Beauty

This family is hands-down one of the most beautiful families I have ever met.  We squeezed in a photoshoot on Christmas Eve in the span of an hour so that everyone could be there – it was crazy-crazy-crazy, but there was much laughter lots of kissing and loving each other up.  Quite sweet.

These kiddos were sweet, and so sweet together – I hope that if I ever have a son, he is as sweet with his younger sibling(s) is this buddy was.

Good friends with young kids + formal shoot = don’t work (for me).

I laughed my BUTT off trying to get a formal family shot for the Christmas cards with these guys – I’m creating a “outtakes” version for them that I’ll post at some point.

But at least there were a few other worthy shots….

Next year I don’t think we can tell the kids we’re doing a shot for the Christmas cards – it’ll have to be a super secret snuggle on the couch affair methinks.

Phew.

January 11, 2009

The holidays were……crazy.  And I’m glad to be getting back into the swing of things.  Unfortunately the holidays were so crazy I now feel amazingly behind.  I’m trying to sift my way out!!  So, get ready for a flurry of posts.

I realized I used to take dozens of pics a week of my kiddo, and now – now,  I just….don’t anymore.  And that makes me sad!  So perhaps a New Years resolution (which I never really do, but perhaps this year I’ll make an exception) should be to take more pics of my own child more often.

Anyways – here’s a favorite fall shot of my girl, a couple of days after Halloween (that’s her Great Pumpkin present in her arms – beautiful Waldorf babydoll):

I don’t think I put up a copies of her school pics:

K – now I don’t feel QUITE as neglectful.

Christmas card pics!

December 14, 2008

The great thing about having a business partner who is also a photographer is that you can get almost-spur-of-the-moment Christmas card photos done on a random Friday morning before school like this here family….
